Carter County is seeking public input regarding the County Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan Update. The current plan was developed in 2013 and has expired the usual five-year life span. As part of the plan update, the county re-evaluates the hazards that directly affect Carter County and its residents, and lists corresponding mitigation actions. Hazard mitigation aims to reduce or eliminate the loss of life, injury or property damage, and mitigation actions are the specific projects that help to achieve those goals.
