Early blast brings wet, heavy snow to the region

A wet, heavy snowstorm that started on Tuesday brought some much needed moisture to the area but also created hazardous travel conditions. School in Ekalaka was canceled on Wednesday as a winter storm warning was scheduled to remain in effect until midnight and several inches of snow had already accumulated. Multiple power outages were reported as of Wednesday morning too, including areas around Capitol, Alzada, Ridge and north of Ekalaka.

Update** According to the National Weather Service, Ekalaka received 1.3 inches of snow and 0.37 inches of precipitation on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Ekalaka received 15.2 inches of snow and 1.75 inches of precipitation.
