On January 13, the period for filing for state and county offices opened. The filing period remains open through March 14 at 5 p.m.

As of Tuesday, seven individuals, four of whom are incumbents, have filed for a county office.

County positions up for election in 2022 include Carter County Commissioner from District #2 (six-year term), County Attorney (4-year term), County Clerk and Recorder/Public Administrator/Surveyor (4-year term), County Treasurer (4-year term) and Justice of the Peace (4-year term).
