The Alzada Community Club is inviting everyone to attend an upcoming event at the community hall. Saturday, May 27th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a rummage sale, simple lunch and bake sale.

While the club had originally hoped to have a live auction on this date, there were not enough high-dollar items received to warrant an auctioneer. So instead, there will be a rummage sale where anyone can bring anything they would like to sell, like a garage sale. Whether it is something someone made-like a piece of art or craft-or a little spring cleaning and decluttering that closet or garage, bring it May 27th to Alzada. One hundred percent of the proceeds made from selling your wares are yours to keep.

There will also be donation boxes out if anyone would like to make a donation to the community club. Donations will be used for current and future building maintenance and improvements and to continue to put on community sponsored events. The club is planning on doing the Harvest Jubilee in October for the second year and will be taking over the community Halloween party at the end of October. They also hope to have a bingo night sometime in January or February.

Through Southeast Electric, all new LED lights were recently installed in the hall, which Direct Electric in Baker installed. The old lights will be available to purchase at the rummage sale with proceeds going to the community club. Many improvement ideas have been suggested throughout the last year including an outside sign, a gallery wall of old Alzada town pictures and past events held at the hall, and other improvements big and small to the building and grounds. The community hall was originally built in 1928 making it a staple of the community for almost 100 years.

The Alzada community club will be serving a simple lunch for a minimal charge in the kitchen. They are asking people to donate baked goods that can be sold to raise money.

If personal items are not sold by 3 p.m., they must go back home with their owner. Nothing is to remain in the community hall as the club does not have the ability to dispose the items. The club's hope and desire is to foster community spirit and to provide people in the area somewhere to go and something to do after the cold winter months and busy springtime madness. The Alzada Community Club looks forward to seeing everyone at their rummage and bake sale this Saturday, May 27th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
