Grant us wisdom

Hello God, it’s me, Mara:

You know, Lord, not every day is easy... J.J. from out of town, shared that as she was driving the two-lane highway toward her neighbors, a loud vehicle zoomed up behind her, could have passed, but waited until a vehicle was coming toward them in the left-hand lane, then zoomed by her, nearly hitting her car, nearly running into the one coming. In a moment, that vehicle was behind another car, could have passed, but again, waited until a truck was buzzing toward them in the left hand lane, then, again, zooming around that car that was in front of him or her, just barely missing car and truck. J.J. had tried to get the license number to report that idiot, but it had been muddied over – she couldn’t make out county OR state. Breathing a sigh of relief, she added that some days are like a ‘million’ verses in the book of Proverbs, folks pay no attention, they just DO some idiotic things. She said that THAT incident reminded her of Proverbs 19: 2: “It is dangerous and sinful to rush into the unknown.”

Then, B.J. who was on her way to the grocery store in her small town; saw an elderly man on the sidewalk between someone’s lawn and the boulevard. Suddenly the sprinkler system started, watering the lawn AND boulevard, drenching the walking guy. By the time B. J. had parked across the street, the guy had gotten one of those motorized carts; it sure looked like he’d wet his pants. She wondered why the guy had not looked ahead – she sighed, said it reminded her of Proverbs 14:8: “The wise man looks ahead. The fool attempts to fool himself and won’t face facts.” Well, too bad for that guy, hope he quickly dried off. Lord, please grant us some much-needed wisdom. [1]

Love, Mara
