Meriam I. Castle, 82, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Good Sam­aritan Soc­iety, Man­son.

She is survived by her son, Danial (Connie) Castle of Hazard, KY; daughters, Beverly Vote of Somers, Patricia Wilson of Farnhamville, Susan Castle of Somers; son, Randy (Valerie) Castle of Halethorpe, MD; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Vern Patten of Spokane, WA; and sister, Barbara Breding of Orville, CA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Eleanor (Hotchkiss) Patten; husband, Marvin; son-in-law, Gary Vote; granddaughter, Christina Vote; brother, Lester Patten; sister, Joyce Menard; and great-grandson, Zayden Vote.

Meriam I. Patten was born June 26, 1935 in Broadus, MT and graduated from Ekalaka High School. She attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Omaha, NE. Meriam was united in marriage to Marvin Castle on March 19, 1957 in Omaha. They established their home in Somers. Meriam was employed with AV Tischer Grain Inspection, Fort Dodge for 20 years. She also worked for the city of Somers and was a teacher's aid for South Central Calhoun Schools. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Rockwell City.
