Astrophotography workshop at Medicine Rocks State Park rescheduled

Last Friday, Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced that the Astrophotography Workshop with Nathan Satran at Medicine Rocks State Park has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 15 at 7 p.m. The event was originally planned for August 18 but was postponed because of low visibility due to smoke.

Astrophotography is a specialized type of photography for recording photos of astronomical objects, celestial events, and areas of the night sky. Learn the techniques for this specialized photography under the guidance of Photographer Nathan Satran.

This program will take place at the Medicine Rocks State Park group-use area and should last until approximately 2 a.m. The cost is $35 per person and the workshop is limited to 15 people. Reservations are required. To RSVP, contact Nathan Satran at (406) 351-3546 or [email protected].

Participants will need a camera and tripod. Camping is available for free at the group use area. Safety is going to be the number one concern, so participants are remind to dress accordingly and to be aware of wildlife.
