Celebrate Independence Day with local chamber

 


On Thursday, July 4 come out to Main Street in Ekalaka for Independence Day festivities starting at 4 p.m. Local businesses and organizations will host activities and booths until 8 p.m. Independence Day will be capped off by a fireworks display sponsored by the Carter County Chamber of Commerce and launched by the Ekalaka Volunteer Fire Department. There will also be a street dance on Main Street.

The Chamber of Commerce will be a holding a “Minute to Win It” contest where teams of two will compete in separate events in an effort to score the most points and be declared the winner. Spots are still open. To reserve a place, text Eva Grimes at 406-975-6444. Individuals without a partner will be paired with someone prior to start.

Carter County Museum and CCHS Closeup will also be holding events on the museum lawn and cornhole boards will be set up on Main Street.

Fireworks will be launched from the rodeo arena and visible throughout the Ekalaka sky. The chamber is still accepting donations to meet their goal of $3000. Donations can be dropped off at Southeast Electric, Stompin’ Grounds, or Community 1st Federal Credit Union. Any funds that exceed the goal will go toward next year’s display.
