Carter County FFA Chapter members recently had the opportunity to attend the 8th Annual John Deere Ag Expo held November 14 through 16 at Montana State University in Bozeman.

The convention was filled with contests for students to compete in, workshops to attend and speakers to listen to. Nineteen Carter County FFA members were in attendance. They competed in 15 different contests ranging from speaking contests to mechanics.

The Ag Communication team, consisting of Jaelee Strangford (5th), Gracie Tooke (7th), Heather LaBree (9th) and Hannah LaBree (23rd) placed second overall. Kenzie Tooke, Turner Tooke, Darin Shallenburger, and Brennen Bonsell placed third in Senior Quiz Bowl.

The Junior Ag Mechanics team placed fifth with teammates Cardell Laughery (15th), Royce Tooke (30th), Tucker Tooke (32nd) and Jaden Pardee. Heather LaBree (25th), Sean Wolentez (35th), Hannah LaBree and Zoie Rost placed eleventh as a team in Senior Agronomy.

The Junior Livestock team placed sixteenth consisting of Heidi LaBree (4th), Sean Wolenetz, Cardell Laughery, Royce Tooke and Tucker Tooke. The Veterinary Science team placed seventh with a team consisting of Gracie Tooke (21st), Hannah LaBree (23rd), Heather LaBree (26th), Heidi LaBree, Kenzie Tooke, Zoie Rost, Cardell Laughery, Darin Shallenburger and Jasmine Erickson.

The members of the chapter had lots of fun competing and meeting new people throughout the weekend.
