Record low recorded Monday

 

In the early morning hours of Monday, July 11th, Ekalaka briefly reached a low temperature of 34 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. That temp shatters a record low for July 11th, besting the previous mark by 5 degrees. The low for July 13th was previously 39 degrees and has been recored three times; in 1950, 1961 and 1971.

The highest low ever recorded for July 11 in Ekalaka is 85 degrees, set in 1929. The normal low temperature all-time is 56.

The record low for the entire month of July in Ekalaka came on July 1st, 1945 when the mercury dipped to 30 degrees. Only once has the temperature reached lower than the mark set on Monday later in the month; that was on July 24th, 1911 when a low of 32 degrees was recorded.
