Candidate filing for the Town of Ekalaka Municipal Election opens April 20, 2023 and closes June 19, 2023. Interested individuals may file a Declaration for Nomination for one of the open positions at the Carter County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, 214 Park Street in Ekalaka.

Only active, registered voters who reside within the Town of Ekalaka are eligible to file. Interested candidates who are not currently registered to vote may register at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office prior to filing a Declaration for Nomination.

The following Council seats are up for election in 2023: one, 4-year term and two, 2-year terms.

Also open in the upcoming election will be the remaining two years of the 4-year term for Mayor.

Anyone interested in filing for any of the three Council seats or the unexpired two years remaining on the term for Mayor may do so by requesting the paperwork from the Ekalaka Town Office or the Carter County Clerk and Recorder’s Office.
