Bark awards

Zoey Hansen and Lily Schallenberger had perfect attendance throughout the 2022-23 school year at Ekalaka Elementary.

On Tuesday, Ekalaka Elementary School held its May Behavioral BARK awards. BARK is an acronym for Be Respectable, Act Responsible, Remember Safety and Kindness Matters.

Each month, students at Ekalaka Elementary work on a specific character trait. During May that trait was ownership.

In addition to BARK awards, guidance counselor Carol Spencer also recognized the students with the most accelerated reader points throughout the entire school year, as well as students with perfect attendance for the entire school year.

The top five finishers in accelerated reader points for the entire school year were: 5th - Jennings Walker, 4th - Rayna Owen, 3rd - Zoey Hansen, 2nd - Cody Brown, 1st - Maggie Eshelman.
