Fair planning continues

Plans for the Days of ‘85 are continuing as the event draws nearer. The annual county fair and rodeo is quickly approaching and will take place August 10th through August 13th.

On Thursday, August 10th, sheep dog trials will be taking place at Ekalaka Track and Arena. A silent auction will begin at the library and animal shows will also be taking place.

On Friday a dodgeball tournament will be taking place at the town park. At noon the pet parade will begin at the fairgrounds. The Firemen’s Barbecue will take place at the high school from 4 to 7 p.m., and free entertainment, “Little Bluestems” has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m at the fairgrounds. A kid’s dance and games will also take place at the fairgrounds, beginning around 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

The annual Bump-N-Run is scheduled for Saturday, August 12th at 11 a.m. The day will be busy with round robin showmanship beginning at 1 p.m., the 4-H and FFA livestock market sale at 3:30 p.m. and a rodeo at 5:30 p.m. Indian tacos will be served at St. Elizabeth Lutheran Church from 4 to 7 p.m. and the Days of ‘85 Gospel Sing featuring “Steve Kolbach Family” will start at 8 p.m. outside of First Baptist Church. A street dance on Main Street is set for 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. There will also be a kids zone on main Saturday night until around 11 p.m.

The parade and a car show are scheduled for Sunday morning in addition to Sunday’s rodeo performance beginning at 2 p.m.
