The Gumbo Gophers had their monthly meeting on August 2nd in Alzada. Roll call was "are you ready for fair?". We decided the slogan for our float at the fair would be, "The Gumbo Gophers are Branded #1." We also decided who would do what job for the barbecue.

After the meeting, we had our annual fireman's barbecue and silent auction. Elizabeth Hall made balloon animals, there was a dunk tank and a corn hole tournament. A big crowd was in attendance and enjoyed the evening
