BLM opens CO2 sequestration project comment period

The Bureau of Land Management has opened a public comment period on the environmental assessment for the Denbury Carbon Solutions, LLC proposal to construct and operate a CO2 sequestration project in southeastern Montana.

The 30-day comment period ends March 18, 2024.

The EA, applicable documents, a link to register for the upcoming virtual public meeting and a venue for submitting comments are available on the BLM e-Planning page dedicated to this project at https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2026556/510.

An in-person meeting to share information will be held March 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter County Event Center, 209 Speelmon St. in Ekalaka. Also, a virtual/online meeting will take place March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. Virtual meeting registration is through the e-Planning webpage at https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2026556/510.

Written comments must be delivered/postmarked by March 18, 2024. Electronic comments may only be submitted via e-Planning. Hard copy comments can be mailed or hand-delivered during business hours (8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.) to the Miles City Field Office, Attention: Irma Nansel, 111 Garryowen Road, Miles City, MT 59301-7000.
