CCHS netters continue winning ways

CCHS lady volleyball continued their win streak last weekend. On Friday September 29, the girls played against Broadus and proceeded to play Circle the following day. This weekend on October 6, the girls will be traveling to Wibaux. They played Wibaux previously on September 7, which resulted in the only loss the girls have this season. Then, on October 7, a volleyball tournament will be held in Ekalaka.

JV girls were the first to step up and play Broadus on Friday. Although the JV squad played hard, they couldn't quite walk away with the win.

However, the following day the JV girls played Circle. Circle came out strong in the first set but CCHS JV pulled through, 25-21, on the first set. The second set was also won by the Bulldogs, 25-9. It was close but Circle won the third set, 10-15. The fourth set was even closer.Circle barely won, 13-15. In the final set the CCHS pulled through, 15-9, winning the match.

CCHS varsity started off strong against Broadus, winning 25-7 in the first set and 25-10 in the second. The third set was close. Broadus managed to steal one from Blue, 23-25, forcing the girls to play a fourth set. Although Broadus managed to win the third set, the girls came out on top in the final set 25-19, winning the match.

The following day the girls played Circle, a team they hadn't played in a conference game this year. Circle came out strong but ended up losing the first set to CCHS, 25-23. The second set was close as well, but CCHS eventually won, 25-19. The girls managed to end the match on a high-note, defeating Cricle in the third set easily, 25-10.

Against Broadus, Tori Tooke managed to lead the team in kills, tallying 18 of the team's 44. She also led the team in assists with 19 out of 38. Heather LaBree stepped up and led the team in digs, tallying 13 out of 44.

Against Circle, Kennedy Tooke had a good day serving, with serval aces that Circle couldn't seem to handle. Claire Callahan led again in kills for CCHS, with 11 of 34. LaBree continued to lead the team in digs with 16 of the team's 69. Tooke followed suit by continuing to lead the team in assists, with half of the team's 24 total.
