Varsity Bulldogs enjoy weekend wins

The CCHS JV boys dropped a game to the Hawks last Friday in Broadus. As a team, they shot 5 for 8 on free throws and 3 for 11 from three point land. Tucker Tooke led the Bulldogs in points with 7, Wyatt Gee led all scorers with 15.

The varsity boys overcame an early deficit to win their game against the Hawks. The Dogs were without big man Mick O'Connor who sat over the weekend with a sprained ankle. CCHS was down by three at halftime but scored 15 in the third quarter while holding Broadus to just 6. Broadus tried fouling late, but the Dawgs shot well enough from the charity stripe to earn a four point victory. Jared Pardee led all scorers with 27 points.

The next day at home, the JV boys played a shortened game against Terry. The boys were down by only one point heading into the final frame, but eventually lost, 17-21. Shane Burkhalter led all scorers with 11.

Three Bulldog players finished the game in double figures and eight made their way into the scoring column in the Varsity Bulldogs' win over Terry. CCHS shot 71 percent on free throws but only 1 for 20 from behind the arc. The Bulldogs won the turnover battle by a wide margin. Jared Pardee led all scorers with 19.
