Lady 'Dogs end season at Southern C

The CCHS Lady Bulldogs' season ended at the Southern C Divisional Tournament in Miles City last Friday with a loss to Bridger. The girls lost their tourney opener on Wednesday to eventual champion Melstone. Roberts won a challenge game over Custer/Hysham on Monday in Billings to secure the second spot from the Southern C at the state tournament, which is set to begin this week.

In Lady Blue's opening game at the Southern C Divisional, the Melstone Lady Broncs jumped out to an early, eight-point lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. CCHS was outscored by at least 8 in every quarter in the game. As a team they shot 4-8 (50 percent) on free throws, 4-26 (15 percent) on two pointers, and 2-11 (18 percent) on threes; Melstone shot 8-12 (67 percent), 17-32 (53 percent), and 6-17 (35 percent). Lady Blue had 20 rebounds and 13 turnovers compared to 32 rebounds and 6 turnovers for the Lady Broncs. Kendra Tooke had 8 points and 9 rebounds to lead the way for CCHS.

Ekalaka was leading Bridger for most of the first half in their loser-out contest on Friday at the Southern C. The game was tight the entire way before Bridger went on a run over the game's final few minutes, eventually defeating CCHS by 9. The Lady Scouts outscored the Lady 'Dogs 16-7 in the final quarter. Kendra Tooke led CCHS in points (21) and rebounds (10). Sidney Frank had 15 points for Bridger.
