Conversations with God

God’s grace

October 11, 2019

Hello God, it’s me, Mara:

You know, Lord, some girl friends had gathered together and were having a great time chit chatting about when their kids were just little tots. Nearly every one of the gals had some amusing and enjoyable things to share about things that had happened, maybe some years ago.

One gal told this story: “I’d been busy pulling weeds, then I noticed that my son who was then just three years old was observing the sky, clearly watching as the jet kept leaving its trail of smoke and suddenly, he exclaimed ‘Mum! Does God have an eraser?’ I asked him why? “Because,” he said. “Just look up and see! As soon as the jet marks up the sky, watch now and see, God is rubbing that jet mark off.”

We all smiled at that cute story; then another gal suggested that maybe we ought to think that maybe that is the way our Father in heaven forgives us; He’s up there watching us and He forgives our sins and rubs them off and out and never again does He ever remember them. We all know that forgiving is not easy especially when we keep forgiving someone and the next minute, they hurt us again. We all nodded at that thought, as all around us, some of our colleagues, friends and family have yet to live a reconciled life with Christ.

We are reminded by Your Word, Lord, where You say that we are to forgive others, just like You forgive, and NO, it is not easy, but we are reminded that it is a command! Dear Lord give us the grace to continuously forgive especially when we continuously fail and have many heart aches, yet Your grace is sufficient! We read in Colossians 3:13, [NIV], “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Love, Mara
