See Shakespeare in the Parks on July 6

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP) beckons thee to the Dahl Memorial Healthcare lawn in Ekalaka on Tuesday, July 6. The theatre company will be performing "Cymbeline," directed by Kevin Asselin, at 6:30 p.m. The free play is sponsored by Sagebrush Service Club. The club is still accepting donations which can be sent to: Valerie O'Connell, P.O. Box 151, Ekalaka, MT 59324.

Attendees should bring what they may need to be comfortable at an outdoor theater event, such as appropriate clothing and insect repellent.

This year, the company plans to travel almost 7,000 miles putting on productions of the famed English playwright's works throughout Montana and neighboring states. All performances are offered free to audiences in local parks and public spaces. MSIP relies on grants, corporate sponsorships and thousands of individual donors to support the free performances.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks is an outreach program of the MSU College of Arts and Architecture. It is the only fully professional touring theatre program in the state currently producing Shakespeare's plays, and the only Shakespeare company in the country to reach as extensively into rural areas.
