CCHS Lady Bulldog volleyballers ended their season at the District 2C tournament in Glendive over the weekend.

In the tourney’s first match Blue defeated Wibaux in four sets. As a team they had an impressive 25 kills and 46 digs. Codi Melton led the way with a team-high 8 aces and had 16 of those digs. Tyra O’Connor had 8 kills while Heidi LaBree had 15 of the team’s 21 assists. Katie Tooke led in blocks (3 of 4).

In their second match on Thursday afternoon, the Lady Bulldogs played the district’s number one seed, Circle. Circle had received a bye in the first round.

The Wildcats defeated the Bulldogs in three straight sets to take the match. Greta Barrett led the team in aces (4 of 6). O’Connor again led in kills (4 of 15). LaBree had 9 of 15 assists and the team’s only block. Melton, Brynn Loehding and Zoie Rost each had 8 digs.

In early Friday action, the Lady Bulldogs took down the Lady Terriers of Terry in four sets. Barrett again had a team-high in aces (5 of 12) and LaBree paced the team in assists (12 of 23). Melton had 23 of the team’s 79 digs and tied with Kendall Shepherd for the lead in kills (5 of 24). Tooke had both blocks tallied by Blue in the match.

In their final game, the girls fell to Jordan in three sets. Jordan wound up coming back and winning the tournament by defeating Broadus in two straight matches on Friday after losing to them in a nail-biter earlier in the tournament.

In the CCHS versus Jordan match, CCHS had no aces. Melton and Tooke each had one block. LaBree led in digs (13 of 65) and assists (8 of 15). Carly Aho led the team in kills (4 of 16).
