Conversations with God

Autumn leaves and snow

November 18, 2022

Hello God, it’s me, Mara:

A brand-new day, full week ahead, Birthdays most every day! Each one of you, we hope the best for Happy Jolly Day.

Most are our friends, and Aunties, three! Some cousins mixed in too. All are good cooks, desserts they loved, Aunt ‘K’ made the best stew!

Two Aunties left in the 60’s, some cousins flew off too. But we’re still here, God has a plan, we still have work to do. Some twins were born, though miles away – their favorite fruit, a peach! And several guys also showed up – and once these two did preach! It’s still Autumn, not all is done – it’s great to see the Blue Sky. But cold weather! It did drift in, and made one old man cry!

The hills and hues, dolls up landscapes, makes lovely countryside. Move cow herds home to their pasture; a horse old “Joe” did ride. Leaves, nuts and mums and orchards, too, and no more weeds to hoe! Yellow and gold, colored scenery, that was before the SNOW!

Some days we watch the snow come down, making patterns on the ground. The once brown ground has changed color; greenery no more is found. Rescue pumpkins – let’s make some pie! How ‘bout some cider, too? And apples, yum! There’s lots to do, so glad that we know YOU! This season’s filled with lots of things and many birds fly ‘round. Some fly off South so they stay warm but some stay here year-round.

We thank You, Lord, for all You’ve made, from trees to golden grain. For the season too, which is ahead, we thank You for our “plain.” Affection is feelings of love [1], sincere, special and warm. This joyfulness comes from above and calms most any storm. Let’s sing and make some music, friends, our Lord’s not far away. When hard times come, we know You care, You’re with us every day! While we’re down here – we need You, Lord, help our hard work show love; While working hard, in each season, You’re watching from above.

Love, Mara
