4-H news

submitted by Lily Schallenberger, Reporter

The Puptown Wranglers 4-H club had their monthly meeting on July 25, 2023 at the Carter County Events Center. Our Roll call was, “What is your favorite summer activity?” Fourteen members and 8 adult leaders were present. We did a large animal round robin showmanship clinic. Round Robin is a show when you show each large animal. You can only get to that show if you get grand or reserve champion in a showmanship class.

We also came up with our parade float idea for the parade on Main Street on Sunday the 13th at 11 a.m. Mindy Yates came and helped teach us how to keep our market animals safe and healthy at the fair. The stick horse rodeo will be held on Friday, August 11th at 2 p.m. The market sale is at 3:30 on Saturday.

The fair theme is, “Wheat Stands and Cattle Brands.” I hope to see you at the Carter County Fair August 10th – 13th.
