Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation is empowering communities

Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation is committed to catalyzing economic growth and fostering prosperity in our southeastern corner of the state. EPEDC serves five counties - Dawson, Fallon, Prairie, Carter and Wibaux - assisting in identifying funding opportunities and offering technical assistance in the application processes. The Organization supports community resiliency and regional tourism, while also keeping the culture and values Eastern Montana holds dear.

In the first two quarters of the new year, the organization has shifted the leadership to a new Executive Director Terra Burman, along with moving the part-time position of the Community Development Specialist to full-time with Lizzy Robertson in that role.

Even amidst the challenges of navigating the new territory, EPEDC has seen some great accomplishments including 12 grants submitted in the last quarter, with a total of 30 applications for 2023 thus far. This funding ranges from small grants like $1,000 up to large-scale projects with a total of $9 million requested.

EPEDC is optimistically looking to bring in training as soon as October with Leadership and Employee Retention Training for the local business owners and managers and Succession Planning Training.
