Sweet charity

Hello God, it’s me, Mara:

You know, Lord, the month of December usually puts us in a giving mood, right? For some folks it’s typically cash, but it needn’t be cash; clothes, shoes, socks, also toys could also be donated, as well as art, or like one friend we heard about, he gave an automobile to a gal who had lost her car in a wreck. Now and then, just giving ‘time’ is also a wonderful item to give, when thinking about ‘giving something’.

Another friend loved making quilts; each year, she’d pick a family member or a friend and give them a quilt. Another gal shared that she was getting ready to move so she’d given cookware and dishes to family and a few neighbors; one neighbor loved her particular set of China dishes – CeCe was so pleased they liked that set! And since she was moving South, she gave up her winter coats! Where she donated, one lady was near-by and whispered, ‘Sweet Charity’! That almost make CeCe cry.

One lad loved making gift cards, he shared with a variety of friends. His mom, long ago, had delighted in baking, she shared food, bread, biscuits, cookies, even sometimes, soup, to some special neighbors; talk about Sweet Charity!

The list could go on and on; some mentioned that giving things/items in December was the most fun of all and to them, it meant the most – helping others.

Winny shared that scripture tells us to live with open hands, giving freely as we can – providing what’s truly best for those in need; then quoted 1 Timothy 6:18; Be generous and willing to share.” That is what Winny was doing; he said that he felt very blessed; then asked: “How does Gods generous heart encourage you to give more freely?” As he smiled and walked away, he handed a small candy bar to a little lad who’d been watching him. Be Blessed!

Love, Mara
