The Gumbo Gophers 4-H club met on Tuesday, June 23 at the Alzada hall. Kodie Olsen from the extension showed us how to fit and show small animals. Members practiced on rabbits, chickens and cats. The Gumbo Gophers 4-H club met on December 7th at the Alzada Community Hall. President Natile Foxley called the meeting to order. Breanna Ulmer led the pledges. Treasurer Keenan McInerney gave the treasurer's report. Song leader Alivia Foxley led us in singing Silent Night. After the business meeting, the Gophers played a Christmas bag exchange game. Twenty goody bags were filled with sausage, cheese, fruit, bread, cookies, popcorn balls, fudge, crackers, Chex mix and candy. These sacks go to the elderly in several communities. Christmas...
The Gumbo Gophers 4-H Club met October 4th at B&J’s in Alzada to decorate their hay bale and have their first meeting. Thanks to Bill Walker for the bales and B&J’s for letting us display them there. The slogans were “Power Up, Join 4-H” and “Superheroes in Training.” After decorating the bales, members and leaders enjoyed supper at B&J’s before the meeting.
