Judges will be out and about on December 16 this year and would like people to have their lights on by 5:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the top three places in this year’s contest. This year the club is also challenging each business to decorate windows or outside of their building to bring some additional Christmas spirit to the streets of Ekalaka. Free babysitting for preschool age children will be provided throughout the day, and lunch, coffee and pie will be available. Door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes. Carter County Chamber of Commerce members are currently planning their Second Annual FestiFall, a fun-filled family event named last year by Chamber President Eva Grimes. FestiFall is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, coinciding with the Willa Nies Memorial Volleyball Tournament in Ekalaka. Over seventy people attended Montana Shakespeare in the Parks' performance of "Henry IV, Part 1" on Monday evening in Ekalaka. The performance was sponsored by Sagebrush Service Club and enjoyed on the Dahl Memorial Healthcare lawn. The theatre company has traveled to rural areas around the state putting on performances that have been a cherished community event for forty-seven years. On Tuesday, Carter County High School seniors and their parents attended a banquet at the school. The annual event, hosted by Sagebrush Service Club, was catered by CCHS FCCLA.
