Some have traveled as far as Camp Crook and others include Baker and several grades from our own Ekalaka Elementary and high schools.     At the Southern C Divisional Track Meet in Laurel last Thursday, four CCHS track and field athletes qualified for the state meet. The top five athletes from each event punched a ticket to state. Tanner Fix will be competing in the 110 meter hurdles, the 300 meter hurdles, and the 400 meter at state. Claire Callahan will be competing in the 100, the 200, and the high jump.     In this article I need to describe how Bob and Grace got together in Carter County as she had been teaching in Oklahoma and he was on his homestead in Montana. Grace arrived in Ekalaka on April 30, 1912. She came from Baker in an “open car” on a cloudy, windy day. Johnny Johnson, the driver, gave her his fur coat to wear.   • Memorial Day services at 11 a.m. on May 29

    Memorial Day services will begin at 11 AM on Monday, May 29, at Beaver Lodge Cemetery. Veterans performing the services should arrive at 10:30 AM. During the service, members of VFW Auxiliary will place a white cross, and red, poppy covered wreath in the center of the cemetery, honoring fallen soldiers.
