Diamonds & Dog Tags formal gala, May 27

On the Saturday prior to Memorial Day, May 27, Stompin' Grounds coffee shop in Ekalaka will be putting on a formal gala at Carter County Events Center.

The gala, named Diamonds & Dog Tags, will start at 6:00 p.m. and is for adults over the age of 21. Those who purchase a $40 ticket to the event will enjoy a prime rib dinner, a silent auction, a dance, and will receive one free drink (a full bar will be available throughout the night). Additionally, poker players will be simultaneously playing in a tournament. Those players may be bid on in a calcutta prior to tournament start. Prizes, including cash, will be awarded to top finishers of the tourney.

Sign-up sheets for poker players will be available at Dawg House Pub. Between eighteen and twenty-four players will be allowed entry. Tickets for the gala will be available starting Monday at the pub, Stompin' Grounds, and Carter County Museum.

Organizers are also still searching for silent auction items. Any business or individual who would like to donate an item, basket, or gift card, may contact Grace Jardee at 406-696-9155.

Proceeds from the event will go to the local VFW and Wounded Warrior Project.
