Meet with LIEAP and SNAP reps on Nov. 27

Representatives with The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) and Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will be in Ekalaka on Tuesday, November 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. Anyone interested in signing up for either of these programs should go to the senior citizen coordinator’s office in the basement of Carter County Courthouse on that day. Interested individuals are also invited to stop in prior to November 27 with questions or to learn more about LIEAP or SNAP.

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a Federally funded program that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs by providing a one-time per year benefit.

SNAP provides a monthly supplement for purchasing nutritious food. Those who qualify get a debit card to use for groceries.
