On Saturday the girls played a close game against Melstone. CCHS was in control in the early going and led by six points at the end of the first. At halftime, the end of the third and the end of regulation, the game was tied. CCHS outplayed the Broncs in almost every facet of the game in regulation. They out-rebounded Melstone, 31-16, had 2 fewer turnovers, 10 more assists and 5 more steals. The Broncs, thanks in large part to freshman Draya Wacker, out-shot the Bulldogs from the field and the charity stripe, forcing overtime. Wacker hit a deep, contested three-pointer that tied the game with under five seconds remaining in regulation. In overtime, Wacker continued to have the hot-hand. She also made her way to the free-throw line several times to give Melstone an insurmountable lead. The Bulldogs battled back as the final seconds waned, but it wasn't enough. Melstone won in an overtime thriller, 65-62.

CCHS had 10 offensive rebounds, 4 were putbacks. As a team they shot 47 percent on free-throws, 44 percent on two-pointers and 22 percent on threes. Hannah LaBree led the Dogs in points with 15. Whitney Kittelmann and Claire Callahan led in rebounds with 5 each.
