Skywarn spotter training set for May 4

The National Weather Service is hosting a Skywarn spotter training in Ekalaka on Wednesday, May 4 at Carter County Event Center. The training will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.

This free, two-hour training will help participants become a sever weather spotter. Those in attendance will learn about thunderstorm basics, identifying potential severe weather, storm structure, damage that hail, wind, flooding and tornadoes can cause, how to report information and more.

This is an important service to the National Weather Service and to Carter County.
