Business, community funding workshop

On July 19, USDA Rural Development will be partnering with Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation to present a variety of small business funding opportunities at a free workshop in Ekalaka.

The event will take place at Carter County Event Center, 209 West Speelmon Street, and lunch will be provided by the Carter County Chamber of Commerce.

Community members are invited to hear from a variety of speakers to learn about different funding and technical assistance opportunities for small business or community projects. Topics will address local, state, and federal funding available, cycles for the upcoming year, and also provide attendees with resources/contacts to engage with. There will be a focus on Community-Based Programs, Cooperatives, Food and Agriculture, Lender Focused Programs and Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs.

Sessions include:

9 a.m. - Community Driven

10:45 a.m. - Cooperatives

1 p.m. - Food and Agriculture Development

2 p.m. - Renewable and Energy Efficiency

3:15 p.m. - Small Business and Nonprofits

4 p.m. - Lenders and Financing

The event is sponsored by Carter County Museum, Carter County Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation, Eastern Montana Food and Agriculture Development Center, Montana Department of Commerce, Montana Department of Environmental Quality, Montana Small Business Development Center, Southeastern Montana Development Corporation and United States Department of Agriculture.
