Junior high girls basketball begins

There are twenty-two girls out for this basketball season including six 8th graders, seven 7th graders, four 6th graders and five 5th graders. The girls are coached this year by Jitt Schneider Jalyn Klauzer has added her expertise by volunteering to be an assistant.

We have been working on conditioning, strength training, defense, and our offensive plays.

Our first games on 10/13/2023 against Jordan were tough loses for both the A and B teams.

The B team had a score of 10 points contributed by Aubri Ashbrook with 4, Cai Jesperson with 4, and Daisey Kratzer with 2. Jordan scored 21 total points for the win. We will continue to work on assists, rebounds, and less turnovers.

The A team had a score of 13 points contributed by Holland Lovec with 4 points and Allie Shepherd 9 points. Our free throws needed to be perfected as we were 2/6 at the line. Jordan scored 47 points for the win.

On Saturday October 14, 2023, Terry traveled to Ekalaka, with the Ekalaka girls winning both games.

The B team had 13 points contributed by Vera Strub with 4, Daisey Kratzer with 2 and Cai Jesperson with 7. Terry scored 12 points.

The A team had 19 points contributed by Holland Lovec with 2, Allie Shepherd with 8, Samantha Deford with 4, and Lily Schallenberger with 2. As a team, the girls went 4 for 12 on free throws. Terry’s score was 10 points. These Terry girls were very physical throughout the whole game.

Our next home game is this Friday against Plevna. Then we will travel to Wibaux on Saturday.
