    (TERRY, Mont.) – The Steppler Ranch of Culbertson, Mont., came out the season winners after the Eastern Montana Ranch Rodeo Finals in Terry, Mont., on Sept. 11.     Phoebe Lynn Farnsworth Breidenbach went home to the Lord, her parents, and siblings on September 14, 2021. Phoebe was born April 16, 1961 in Ekalaka, MT to Leonard and Donna Farnsworth. She was the fifth child to bless their union of marriage. She had a wonderful life growing up, despite losing two of her siblings.     CCHS defeated Plevna in three straight sets to win their homecoming volleyball match last Saturday in Ekalaka. The Lady Bulldogs won 25-11, 25-14 and 25-12. Plevna struggled to return serves as Blue compiled 29 aces. Zoie Rost led the way with 8 of them. Meanwhile, Plevna was held without an ace throughout the entirety of the match.   • Free flu shot clinic next week

    Public Health has partnered with The Caring Foundation to bring to a two day free flu shot clinic to Carter County. Individuals may choose between two days, either September 30 or October 1. The clinic is open to all ages 6 months and older. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18 years of age. The department asks that individuals bring their insurance card with them even though the clinic is free to all. COVID-19 vaccine is also available for anyone interested....

    One hundred four members signed in at Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association's annual meeting last Thursday night at Carter County Events Center. Around 60 attended last year and about 75 turned out in 2019.     Carol (Peabody) Spencer is in her first year teaching in her hometown. The 2009 Carter County High School graduate said that her and her husband, Rusty, made the decision to move back to Ekalaka to be closer to her family ranch and because they wanted to be a part of the community.     On the morning of September 19, 2021, Sarah (Betty) Juanita (née Cope) Moullet passed away peacefully of natural causes. Betty had been residing at the Powder River County nursing home in Broadus, MT at the time of her passing. Betty would have been 93 years old in November.
