Local pumpkin patch ready for another season

Ready for Big Mac's Patch in 2023? Because they are ready for you!

The garden is full of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes. Yes they grow their pumpkins from start to finish, just so one can experience the joy of picking one that is just right. The bale maze is back and bigger than ever. Have fun weaving through the 252 bale challenge.

This will be Big Mac's fifth year opening a traditional pumpkin patch with lots of fun outdoor activities, delicious fall goodies, a large straw castle, hayrides, bouncing horse races, prairie golf, a 100 foot zip line and much more. Added new this year is a pumpkin carriage for the little Cinderellas to enjoy.

Special night activities have also been organized such as a fun fall night for the adults and for those who enjoy the thrill of being frightened by the popular haunted nights.

The patch will be opening Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24, with regular operating hours from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each weekend through Oct. 28 and 29. Cover charge is $12 per person, or $50 per carload, which includes all activities.

They will be offering delicious traditional pumpkin and fall snacks, including the favorite pumpkin bars, funnel cakes, spiced bonfire crackers, specialty honey items and more. Fall drinks include flavored coffees, tea and cider.

Weekend events are bigger than ever this year and are as follows:

Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24 - Open 1 - 4 p.m.

Sept. 23 - Adult night. Come enjoy a unique date night without the littles. We will have a bonfire, scavenger hunt, snipe hunt, games and more, beginning at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1 - Open 1 - 4 p.m. Enjoy live music.

Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8 - Open 1 - 4 p.m. Pick-a-pumpkin/Paint-a-pumpkin - Kayla Heiser will be there to guide in creating cool pumpkin art.

Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15 - Open 1 - 4 p.m. Family Day including Family Olympics - Compete against other families for fun and prizes. Sunday only, dress in your finest fall outfits and let Bohle Images take some great fall family portraits.

Saturday, Oct. 21 - Night time haunted hayride and bale maze from 7 - 10 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22 - Open 1-4 p.m. Young Miss Montana Volunteer contestants will be at the Patch for face painting and a meet and greet.

Saturday, Oct. 28 - Second time scare night from 7 - 10 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29 - Dress up and trick-or-treat from 1 - 4 p.m.

Big Mac's Patch is located at the Donald and Laurie MacKay Ranch, 18 miles south of Plevna and Baker, at 316 Scorio Butte Rd. Roads signs will be posted.
