Winter moved in at Capitol and Tie Creek, this week, with snow. Monday was a nice day for working outside. Tuesday was a day of rain, and Karen Odell had three-fourths of an inch, before the snow began, that evening, bringing four or five inches. Indian Summer descended upon Tie Creek and Capitol, this week. There was a day or two of breezy weather, but the days were mostly mild and sunny. Erma Albert had her last physical therapy appointment on Tuesday. She is now on her own. Keep up your exercises. On Thursday, Dick and Erma went to Spearfish for shopping. The rains that were predicted for Capitol and Tie Creek, didn’t produce much moisture this week. There has been fog, early on some days, so the moisture may come in January. Erma Albert went to physical therapy and to the chiropractor this week, so she is in great shape now. On Thursday, she and Dick went to Belle Fourche for some shopping, and Dick also got a haircut. Erma Albert saved some of her outside plants from freezing, this week. Her petunias were out, but the cold nights just made them more beautiful. On Tuesday, Erma went to physical therapy in Buffalo. She and Dick went to eye appointments in the Hills on Thursday. Luckily, their eyes had not changed much, and they could keep their old glasses. Some of Dick and Erma Albert’s family will be going to Hawaii, next week, for their granddaughter’s wedding, but Dick and Erma are not venturing that far. September 25, 2023 Alvin and Marlee Cordell have had hunters visiting from Watertown, this week. Ryan Cordell and Wade Pearson vaccinated calves on Sunday. On Saturday night, Alvin and Marlee went south of Alzada for the J. O. McDonald seventieth birthday party. Alvin and George Davis had gotten thirty-five hundredths of rain. September 18, 2023 The news will be a little short this week. Karen has been quite busy. She wrote out a very old song, and then she arranged her piano accompaniment and recorded the piano part. Next, she recorded her voice and added it to the mix. Then, she wrote out the violin part for the break in the middle. The heat headed back to Capitol and Tie Creek, this week, and the mosquitoes are still hanging around. The grasshoppers diminished, but had already done much damage. The vicious mosquitoes attacked in full force, this week at Capitol and on Tie Creek. Dick and Erma Albert went to Rapid City on Wednesday, and stayed over for an appointment on Thursday morning. Things are sort of quiet around Capitol and Tie Creek this week. The weather has been very hot. Alvin Cordell saw a temperature of 104 degrees on Monday, and 101, again on Tuesday. The hay fields are mostly full of grasshoppers, but some to the south haven’t had the influx of hoppers like those up on Tie Creek.
