A four hour driver safety course will be held at the Carter County Senior Citizens Center on Monday, November 18. The course will be taught by Carole Carey. Those who participate will receive a workbook, watch videos and have a discussion on driver safety. The course is geared for drivers at least 55 years of age. Ekalaka Community Choir members had their first scheduled practice last week. At the practice, the group discussed a possible date for their holiday performance. The performance has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday, December 15 at St. Elizabeth Lutheran Church. Sagebrush Service Club’s Annual Holiday Bazaar is quickly approaching. The event will take place on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Carter County High School. Free babysitting for preschool age children will be provided throughout the day, and lunch, coffee and pie will be available. Door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes. The parking lot of St. Elizabeth Lutheran Church in Ekalaka will be a great stop for young trick-or-treaters when Halloween arrives this year. The annual ‘Trick or Trunk’ event will feature vehicles decorated for the occasion by rural hosts, allowing children to do a great deal of trick-or-treating in a single location.
