    Both defendants in an assault case in Fallon County have now pleaded guilty to the charges against them, with the sentencing for both individuals being moved to January. Tucker Tooke and Turner Tooke were both charged with assault with a weapon, a felony, following an incident that occurred outside of Baker last year.     Ekalaka Public Schools Principal Brian Purnell recently resigned from his position. Purnell’s last day in office was Thursday, November 2nd. The school-owned housing that Purnell lived in with his family is already vacant and the K-12 principal position was posted on the Montana Office of Public Instruction website by Tuesday morning.     The majority of local voters said no to a pair of school bonds totaling $1.5 million in Tuesday’s mail ballot election. Ekalaka Public Schools would have used the money to design, construct and equip staff housing on property the school already owns.     Two hundred twenty-one severely deteriorated gravestones at Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka were recently replaced. One of the main reasons for the project was to preserve local history before it was forever lost. The cemetery board raised some funding to offset the cost of the project.
