On the morning of September 19, 2021, Sarah (Betty) Juanita (née Cope) Moullet passed away peacefully of natural causes. Betty had been residing at the Powder River County nursing home in Broadus, MT at the time of her passing. Betty would have been 93 years old in November. Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, September 16th beginning at 6 p.m. at Carter County Events Center. Three board positions are up for election to three-year terms at the annual meeting this year. A record crowd was entertained during the 2021 Carter County Fair Pet Parade last Friday. Seventeen entries consisted of a variety of pets. The animals included a duck, a goat, a Highlander, horses, a llama, a pony, sheep and dogs of all shapes and sizes. Hometown Heroes, being the theme, brought up many hilarious, clever and heartfelt entries. Carter County Museum's 9th Annual Dino Shindig was well attended this year as the event continues to be one of the more anticipated summer events in Ekalaka. This year, forty-three volunteers worked a total of 850 hours to make the Shindig possible. Dahl Memorial Healthcare will not be holding an annual health fair this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although there won’t be a health fair, Dahl will still be offering the service of screening labs at a lower cost to local community members.
