Carter County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Independence Day fireworks display is a go this year. Volunteer fire department members will be lighting off the display from the track and arena after dusk on July 4. In an effort to make donating easier, an account has been set up at Community 1st Federal Credit Union for monetary contributions to this year’s display. Visit Southeast Montana welcomed three new members to the Board of Directors during its April 29 board meeting. Eva Grimes of Carter County, Jamie Redger of Big Horn County and Kathy McLane of Dawson County were voted in unanimously. Grimes was born and raised in Carter County. After spending time out of state, she returned to Ekalaka and began working for local businesses. In 2016, she and her mother opened Stompin' Grounds Coffee House which she continues to help run today....

Nineteen people donated blood at last week’s community blood drive held at Carter County Events Center. Of those, seven had appointments and four were new donors. In total, 23 units of blood were donated. Sam Cook won the drive’s door prize, $25 worth of Carter County Chamber of Commerce chamber bucks.
